Question

What are the causes of abdominal pain?

Answer

A two-year-old child has been experiencing abdominal pain at night, which has persisted for a week. The onset and duration of the illness: one week. The child’s current condition includes intermittent abdominal pain. Past diagnoses and treatment experiences and effects: The child was diagnosed with enterocolitis, which frequently causes abdominal pain, without fever or diarrhea. The location of the pain is usually around the navel, with symptoms such as cold sweat and a pale complexion during pain, sometimes rolling on the stomach in pain. However, the pain usually resolves on its own shortly thereafter, and the child’s diet and play return to normal. However, similar abdominal pain may still occur the same day or the next day, indicating that it might be a more common condition known as “intestinal spasm.” Intestinal spasm is typically caused by allergic reactions to food or cold, leading to excitement of the intestinal wall nerves.
