Question
Is it possible for newborns to have allergic reactions after receiving the vaccine?
Answer
After vaccination, most newborns will not have any reactions or only minor ones. Common reactions include redness, swelling, heat, and pain at the injection site, as well as lymph node swelling, fever, decreased appetite, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Typically, these symptoms do not require special treatment and will disappear after 1 to 2 days with adequate hydration and rest. Avoid bathing immediately after vaccination and treat symptoms accordingly, such as physical cooling and taking antiallergic medication. If symptoms are severe, such as persistent high fever, purulent infection at the injection site, poor spirits, and decreased appetite, seek medical attention immediately.
