Question
What are the common symptoms of pediatric obesity?
Answer
Pediatric obesity often manifests as a strong appetite, preference for fatty and sweet foods, low activity levels, and an overweight physique with even distribution of subcutaneous fat. Fat accumulation is particularly noticeable on the cheeks, shoulders, breasts, and abdominal wall. Obesity can appear at any age during childhood, but it is more common in children under 1 year old, between the ages of 5-6, or during adolescence.
