Question

My eight-month-old son developed a fever yesterday afternoon, with a temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius. Physical cooling methods have been ineffective, and he has taken three doses of cold medicine, Huitong, but his temperature still remained at 37.8 degrees Celsius at noon today. He is in good spirits, his appetite is normal, and he hasn’t shown any symptoms of a cold like sneezing or running nose. When I touched his forehead and limbs, I didn’t feel any fever. Why does the armpit temperature reading show such a high fever? Is this a cold? What other problems could it be? Since my son is young and it’s cold outside, I hope to handle this at home and avoid taking him to the hospital. Could you please provide some advice as soon as possible? Thank you!
