Question

The main food for a 25-day-old baby is formula milk. Should we add things like cod liver oil or other supplements, such as items like every-baby’s fire-clearing products? The baby cries more than before, sleeps shallowly, wakes up with the slightest movement, and likes to stretch and kick.

Answer

If the milk supply is sufficient, additional food supplements may not be necessary for a 25-day-old baby. Breastfeeding can be introduced at around 2 months, and solid foods should be added from 4 to 6 months, including mashed vegetables, fruit purees, iron-fortified formula milk, and formula milk. From 7 to 9 months, semi-solid foods such as congee, minced meat, mashed vegetables, eggs, fish puree, tofu, formula rice flour, and fruit purees can be introduced. From 10 to 12 months, soft rice, minced meat, chopped vegetables, eggs, fish meat, dairy products, and fruits can be included. Additionally, exposing the baby to sunlight more often is beneficial for calcium absorption. It is important not to consume too much monosodium glutamate as it is detrimental to calcium absorption.
