Question
Can strabismus be completely cured through a single surgery, and is there a risk of recurrence?
Answer
Strabismus surgery typically employs new adjustable suture techniques to improve the accuracy of postoperative eye alignment. However, if the normal visual function is not restored in a timely manner after the surgery, there is a risk of long-term misalignment of the eyes. We usually recommend postoperative training to consolidate the treatment effect. Some patients may experience temporary double vision after surgery, which may naturally disappear in some cases, while other situations may require recovery training.
