Question
Hello, my child is six and a half months old and has recently been diagnosed with source-unknown epilepsy. We are currently on medication, but I am worried about the possible side effects on the child. I would like to know if surgery can be performed at this time? During the child’s convulsions, their limbs twitch, their eyes roll upwards, and their lips turn purple, all in the same direction. The results of the EEG and other checks have been normal. I would also like to inquire about the approximate cost of the surgery. Thank you. Can the child eat various types of fish? Can they eat bananas and goat’s milk?
Answer
Epilepsy is a chronic condition that may persist for years or even decades if not properly controlled. Therefore, some epilepsy patients hold a pessimistic attitude towards whether the disease can be cured. It must be pointed out that most epilepsy outcomes are good, but there are also a few cases that are difficult to control and have poor outcomes. Epilepsy patients should maintain an optimistic attitude, build confidence in overcoming the disease, and must adhere to long-term treatment, stopping medication after a longer period of remission.
