Question

How Long Does It Take for the Adverse Reactions of the Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus Vaccine to Recover?

Answer

After receiving the Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus vaccine, some children may experience adverse reactions such as fever, redness and swelling at the injection site, and pain. Generally, these reactions usually resolve spontaneously within 24 to 48 hours after vaccination. If there is a slight fever, it can be relieved by drinking plenty of water and resting. However, if the fever exceeds 38.5°C or severe allergic reactions occur (such as difficulty breathing, excessive crying, or coma), immediate medical attention should be sought. In addition, parents should closely monitor their child’s condition and contact a doctor promptly if any unusual symptoms are observed.
