Additionally, there is a special type of jaundice called breastmilk jaundice, which can improve after reducing the amount of breast milk. It is recommended to take your baby to the hospital for a check-up. You can observe whether the baby’s jaundice worsens or recurs, and whether there is yellowing in the palms and soles of the hands and feet as well as in the eyes. If the baby’s jaundice subsides after stopping breastfeeding, it can be considered as breastmilk jaundice. It is recommended to temporarily stop breastfeeding until the jaundice completely resolves before resuming feeding. Generally, once jaundice resolves, it does not recur.
