Question
The child developed sinusitis due to a fever, started shaking his head after intravenous treatment, and then changed to head-shaking circulation. Inquire whether this is related to the nervous system and whether an EEG can detect the problem.
Answer
EEG may show symptoms of encephalitis. In this case, consideration should be given to whether the child has viral encephalitis. If the EEG results are normal, the child will usually recover on their own after a period of time. There are similar cases where children shake their heads involuntarily after a cold, with normal EEG results, and ultimately recover on their own.
