Answers

  1. Take your baby to see a doctor for relevant examinations to determine the cause.
  2. If it’s a viral cold, there is no specific medicine; it mainly relies on care and symptom relief, generally improving within 7-10 days.
  3. If it’s caused by bacterial infection, the doctor will prescribe antibiotics, which should be taken on time and in the prescribed dosage; do not increase the dosage yourself.
  4. If the baby has a fever, follow the doctor’s instructions for fever-reducing medication. It is usually recommended to take fever medicine when the body temperature exceeds 38.5℃. Avoid taking cold medicine randomly, especially for infants under 1 year old.
  5. If nasal congestion affects the baby’s feeding, ask the doctor to prescribe saline nasal drops, which should be administered 15 minutes before feeding. Then use a nasal aspirator to remove the saline and mucus from the nose. Do not administer vasoconstrictor or similar nasal drops unless permitted by the doctor.
