Question
How to treat a baby’s eye injury?
Answer
If a baby’s eyelid is bruised but vision is unaffected, you can initially apply cold compresses using a cold towel or ice packs to constrict the surrounding blood vessels. After 1 to 2 days, you can switch to warm compresses to promote the absorption of swelling. Simultaneously, you can take oral antibiotic medication to promote the resolution of inflammation. If there is conjunctival bruising with minor bleeding, it can be absorbed on its own, and regional eye antibiotic drops should be applied. If the injury is severe and affects vision, immediate medical attention should be sought.
