Assistance Needed: Please ask what the cause might be and what can be done about it.

Answer

Baby’s evening crying is a form of sundowning syndrome, and there is currently no known solution. Babies under 3 months old are most sensitive to sundowning symptoms, which can be a source of great concern for mothers. Since babies are still unable to distinguish between day and night, during the sundown period, it is the time when they are least able to relax and fall asleep. However, sleep is precisely what they most need at this moment. Therefore, being tired yet unable to sleep leads to the baby developing sundowning symptoms, manifested by not being able to eat milk comfortably or fall asleep peacefully, and preferring to cry to express their discomfort. Some babies may cry for nearly two hours.
