Question
Why do 2-year-old children walk with their feet inward? The foot position during walking is incorrect.
Answer
A 2-year-old child’s feet turning inward while walking could be caused by various factors, including internal rotation of the thigh, internal rotation of the lower leg, or inward retraction of the forefoot. To determine which type your child has, you can send us a video of them walking. Some cases may require corrective treatment, while others can be improved through in-toe rehabilitation exercises at home. There are also instances where a combination of correction and rehabilitation treatment might be necessary. First and foremost, identifying your child’s specific in-toe type is the primary task.
