Is it safe for the child to drink the Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid, which is effective for diarrhea and vomiting in adults?
Answer
If a child is vomiting and has diarrhea after eating, it should be considered as acute gastroenteritis, possibly caused by rotavirus infection. Children with weak immunity during this season are more prone to this disease.
- Temporarily fast for four to six hours to allow the gastrointestinal tract to rest and recover.
- If the child is very thirsty, give them small amounts of ginger-sweetened rice water frequently to stop vomiting and replenish fluids.
- If the child shows signs of dehydration such as sunken eyes, no tears when crying, and dry, less elastic skin, it indicates dehydration and intravenous treatment may be necessary.
