Question
My daughter is six months old, and this morning her stool had blood in it. What is the problem? What should we do?
Answer
As long as the child is growing healthily and her weight is steadily increasing, she is able to eat and sleep well, there is no need to worry too much about changes in the color and shape of her stool. Changes in the depth of color of the stool do not necessarily indicate that the child has any problems, and similarly, slight dryness or thinness in the stool does not necessarily mean anything. If you are concerned or anxious because of this, you can consult a doctor to eliminate your doubts. In summary, changes in the frequency and color of a child’s bowel movements do not necessarily indicate a problem.
