Question
How should I feed a five-month-old baby rice cereal? My baby is currently five months old and is eating rice cereal. I want to know if I can give her some cornmeal, and how to schedule the feeding times for complementary foods. Currently, my baby eats five times a day, at 7:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 3:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 11:30 PM. Is this schedule appropriate?
Answer
Prepare warm water and avoid using water that is too hot to mix with the rice cereal, as this can lead to the loss of probiotics and vitamins and other nutritional substances. Use a bowl or cup with measurements to mix the rice cereal according to the ratio, ensuring that the baby receives the correct proportion without being too thin or too thick. While mixing the rice cereal, pour and stir it continuously to ensure even dissolution and prevent lumps. When feeding, scoop from the top layer down to avoid feeding cold cereal, as it can cool down quickly in winter.
