Question
How to handle the rapid breast development in girls?
Answer
If a girl’s breasts begin to develop rapidly at 12 years old but are not yet fully mature, this may be a normal phenomenon of puberty. However, if necessary, a wrist bone X-ray examination can be conducted on the child to check if the bone age is normal. If the bone age is significantly advanced, treatment may be required to control the growth rate of the epiphyses, in order to avoid affecting the child’s final height.
