Question

What should I do if my baby’s lymph nodes behind the ear have been present for three months without disappearing?

Answer

The baby is only one year old and has thin skin and less subcutaneous fat, so it is common to be able to feel normal subcutaneous lymph nodes, which does not necessarily indicate a disease and should not be a cause for concern. If the lymph nodes are normal, they should be soft and smooth with no adhesions in the regional area. Avoid frequent touching to prevent lymph node inflammation. If there is redness, swelling, or tenderness in the regional area, antibiotic treatment can be used for one week.
