Newborn varicose veins may be triggered by the following reasons:
- Changes during pregnancy may lead to the condition.
- Long periods of standing due to work habits.
- Congenital or familial genetic factors.
- Obstruction of deep vein circulation, leading to increased intravascular pressure and the curvature and expansion of superficial veins.
- Trauma causing dysfunction in the lower limb venous valves. When varicose veins are mild, elevating the lower limbs for rest or using elastic bandages and compression stockings to compress can promote venous blood return. If accompanied by pain, surgery to extensively remove the veins can be considered.
