Question

My baby has been running a high fever for three days at the emergency room. The fever seemed to be improving, but after receiving an injection and coming home today, the baby has developed a high fever again, with a current temperature of 38.5 degrees. The fever seemed to subside slightly after taking medicine in the morning, but it rose back to 38.5 degrees in the evening, and the antipyretic medicine did not bring it down. I don’t know what to do now and why the temperature isn’t dropping. This has never happened before.

Answer

Based on the symptoms, it appears to be caused by the fever itself, and medications such as Azithromycin or Silver Sulfadiazine can be taken to alleviate symptoms. It is recommended to rest in bed, ensure adequate sleep, drink plenty of water, avoid high-salt and high-fat foods, and refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol. It is suggested to take Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium dispersible tablets and antipyretic medicine, drink plenty of water, keep warm, and rest properly. Fever is an autoimmune disease, and it usually resolves on its own within a week without treatment.
