Question

The girl cries with great effort and then experiences a brief loss of consciousness. A color Doppler ultrasound shows minimal tricuspid regurgitation, with everything else normal. Hello, what could be the cause of this, and how should it be treated?

Answer

Difficulty breathing during crying in girls could be caused by various factors, including increased pulmonary artery pressure or heart disease. If the regurgitation is moderate and the pulmonary artery pressure is relatively high, this pulmonary hypertension may be congenital, and the cause needs to be identified. It could be due to pulmonary hypertension induced by left heart inflammation or pulmonary hypertension itself. In the latter case, a right heart catheterization is needed to confirm the cause. If there is a heart condition, an MRI can generally detect it. Additionally, there may be HIV virus infection or chronic liver disease.
