Question

What Are the Causes of Pediatric Urinary Tract Infections?

Answer

Urinary tract infections are caused by direct invasion of bacteria. Symptoms of urinary tract infections include acute pyelonephritis and chronic pyelonephritis. Symptoms of acute pyelonephritis include acute onset, chills, feeling cold, fever, general malaise, headache, fatigue, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, urgency, dysuria, lower back pain, and discomfort in the renal area. Chronic pyelonephritis may have symptoms similar to acute pyelonephritis during acute recurrence, but they are usually milder and may even not include fever, general malaise, or headache. Symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria may also be less obvious.
