Question
The baby has been feeling nausea and vomiting for four days now, mainly with frequent loose stools that resemble water, and occasionally, a small amount of stool that looks like eggshells. Despite medical treatment, the symptoms have not improved. I would like to know how to deal with persistent diarrhea in children.
Answer
Childhood diarrhea may be related to viral infections or dietary factors. It is recommended to focus on milk, rice porridge, noodles, and rice noodles in the diet recently, avoiding other foods, and reducing the amount of food consumed. Regular stool tests should be conducted to determine the cause. If the vomiting is not caused by a contagious factor, symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication, Golden Double Bifidus (or lactic acid bacteria tablets), Simethicone, and atropine tablets can be used for treatment. Oral rehydration salts should also be used to prevent dehydration. Diarrhea in children usually has a quick course, but the time for spontaneous recovery may be longer, and in some cases, it can last for several months.
