Gastrointestinal Reactions: Common symptoms include nausea, dry heaves, abdominal pain, and vomiting; severe cases may involve cramping pain, abdominal tenderness, severe vomiting (watery or purulent), accompanied by fever, abnormal thirst, and fatigue (pseudomembranous colitis). Nausea, enteritis, and pseudomembranous colitis can recur at the beginning of treatment or several weeks after discontinuation.
  2. Blood System: White cell reduction, neutrophil reduction, increased eosinophil count, and thrombocytopenia may occur occasionally; rare cases of aplastic anemia.
