Question

My baby is 6 months old and recently their face has become darker and drier than when they were born. I’m not sure if it’s due to the wind or other reasons. Are there any methods to restore the baby’s smooth and fair complexion to its original state?

Answer

The darkening of a baby’s face may be due to exposure to the wind or not applying moisturizer promptly after washing. Particularly for infants under 3 years old, if they are not properly cared for during winter and spring, their skin is prone to losing moisture, becoming dry, wrinkling, peeling, and reddening, especially on the face and the back of the hands. It is recommended to provide your baby with ample hydration daily. Since birth, my child has been using baby-specific moisturizer, the most common kind, which costs one yuan per pack. Importantly, when the baby cries and has tears, wash their face immediately and apply moisturizer after washing.
