Question
A 7-year-old boy has started experiencing throat pain and severe coughing, accompanied by a persistent fever. How should one treat a child’s tonsillitis?
Answer
Generally, for pediatric tonsillitis, antibiotic treatment can be administered, as well as regional drug sprays or laser therapy. For throat pain, analgesics may be considered; if there is continued fever, oral antipyretics can be taken. In cases of severe illness or complications, it is recommended to undergo tonsillectomy two weeks after the acute inflammation subsides. During treatment, maintain a light diet and consume mainly liquid foods.
