Question

Why do babies always have high fevers at night?

Answer

Nighttime high fevers in babies can be attributed to the normal body temperature regulation mechanism. During the fever period, babies may experience fluctuations in body temperature. If the baby is taking medications such as ibuprofen suspension, and other drugs like ambroxol hydrochloride oral solution, cefaclor granules, and paracetamol phenylephrine granules during the fever, these medications may help reduce the fever. However, if the fever persists or is accompanied by other symptoms such as rapid breathing or wheezing upon auscultation, immediate medical attention should be sought to avoid developing pneumonia or other complications. When dealing with a baby’s fever, close observation of the condition should be maintained, and appropriate physical cooling measures should be taken, such as wiping the body with warm water or using fever-reducing patches. If the fever lasts for a certain period and is accompanied by other symptoms, immediate medical assistance should be sought.
