Question

A six-month-old baby has been crying frequently in recent days, sometimes accompanied by a fever. After a revisit to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed it as abdominal distension. Although treatment has been administered, the condition has not improved. How should this issue be handled?

Answer

Abdominal distension in infants may be due to indigestion. It is recommended to try massage therapy. Place the baby on their back on the bed, and the therapist should use the palm root of their right hand to firmly press against the abdominal muscles. Push from the upper right abdomen towards the upper left abdomen, then to the lower right abdomen, repeating this process. The technique should not be too forceful, and each session should last about ten minutes. Perform this daily 2 to 3 times. It is hoped that the baby will recover soon.
