Question

The baby experienced vomiting after eating meat dumplings and it lasted the entire day. Starting from the third day, diarrhea began and this condition has been ongoing for five days. The baby ate the purchased frozen dumplings at noon on the 19th. Has there been any improvement in the treatment process? How can we help the baby stop vomiting?

Answer

Considering that a child’s gastrointestinal function may not have fully recovered after diarrhea, it could lead to dyspepsia. It is recommended to reduce or avoid eating foods that may cause bloating, such as sweets. Foods high in protein, like eggs, dairy, and meat, are also difficult to digest and should be eaten in small amounts. Fruits and vegetables high in fiber, such as pineapples, cabbage, chili peppers, chives, and sweet potatoes, may exacerbate intestinal peristalsis and cause vomiting. Diarrheic babies should avoid eating these foods as much as possible. Apples contain malic acid and can be given to the baby in moderate amounts.
