Question

My baby often cries loudly during sleep but sleeps well during naps. A few nights ago, I was worried if I had come across something unclean. Previous treatment and results: I went to the hospital, and the doctor said there was nothing wrong. Now I want to know, if there really is an issue, what solutions are there?

Answer

There can be multiple reasons for a baby’s crying. Firstly, it is recommended to rule out environmental factors, such as excessive temperature, the baby sleeping too long during the day, or insufficient feeding. Secondly, from a medical perspective, conditions like rickets may cause nighttime crying, with symptoms such as excessive sweating and night terrors. If the baby has not been supplementing with cod liver oil and calcium tablets, there may be absorption issues like nausea and vomiting. Suggestion: If there are no other symptoms, consider adding cod liver oil, calcium tablets, vitamin A&D drops to the baby’s diet. Also, ensure the baby gets plenty of sunlight and spends more time playing and interacting with the baby during the day to increase daytime sleep. It’s possible that the baby has a more apparent calcium deficiency, so there is no need to worry excessively.
