Question

Will a five-month-old baby accept formula milk after weaning? Can I wean the baby if breast milk decreases? Will the baby enjoy formula milk after weaning?

Answer

During the weaning period and when introducing complementary foods, mothers need to be particularly patient, as even though the baby is still quite young, they may selectively eat. If breast milk is scarce, consider weaning and using formula milk and complementary foods to feed the baby. A five-month-old baby can start to eat more complementary foods. If the baby doesn’t eat during one feeding, try again instead of giving up because they didn’t eat once. Start with a quarter of an egg yolk and try a new food each week. If there is no allergic reaction within a week, you can continue to try other foods.
