Question
My granddaughter is 46 days old, and I’ve noticed recently that she’s having less deep sleep and often wakes up during the day. I’m seeking help on how to normalize this.
Answer
Every newborn has a different sleep schedule. Generally, after birth, in addition to eating, drinking, defecating, and urinating, newborns spend most of their time in deep sleep. However, as children grow older and become increasingly sensitive to external environmental stimuli, they start to interact with their surroundings and adults, play, and their sleep time gradually increases. Your child at this age should have about 15 to 16 hours of sleep.
