My son is 4 years and 9 months old. On December 24th at 6 PM, his body temperature was measured at 39.5 degrees Celsius, and he was diagnosed with tonsillitis. After taking ibuprofen for fever reduction and anti-inflammatory medication, he started to reduce fever on the 26th. Do I need to continue giving him ibuprofen for fever reduction?

Ibuprofen is only a temporary fever reducer and has no anti-inflammatory or other therapeutic effects. It should not be taken when there are no fever symptoms. It is recommended to continue using oral anti-inflammatory medication, drink plenty of water, monitor body temperature and mental state, and there is no need to worry if there are no other discomfort symptoms.
