Question
My baby is 52 days old and spit up all the milk they ate today. What should I do? I’m very worried.
Answer
Babies may experience spitting up in the first few months due to an underdeveloped digestive system, as their stomachs are horizontal and have not yet formed a curve. If the baby is eating well, sleeping well, and appears spirited, there is no need to worry excessively. After feeding, do not immediately lay the baby down; instead, hold them upright and gently pat their back to release stomach gas. If you can burp them, the frequency of spitting up will decrease. Place the baby on their right side to avoid choking. Avoid letting the baby eat too quickly, as this can easily lead to air intake. If the baby shows signs of being unwell, it is advisable to take them to a pediatrician for a check-up.
