Question

Every winter, my child has trouble sleeping at night due to coughing and asthma. What should I do?

Answer

If a child experiences frequent coughing or a persistent cough for less than three days, a urine test should be conducted to determine whether it is caused by bacteria, viruses, or mycoplasma infections. Medication should be administered according to the test results. It is recommended to have a doctor perform a lung auscultation or chest X-ray to determine if there is bronchitis or pneumonia. If pneumonia is present and oral medication is ineffective, intravenous fluid therapy may be necessary. Additionally, if the child has an allergic body, check for allergic cough and conduct a detailed examination of allergens to determine which allergens the child is sensitive to. For coughs and asthma, nebulizer inhalation therapy can be used to clean the lungs.
