Why do children’s ears always feel warm and red?

There are two situations when a child’s ears may feel warm. One is after intense exercise, as blood flows to the muscles of the limbs, causing the ears to feel warm. The other is when moving from a cold to a warm place, the blood vessels suddenly dilate, also leading to a feeling of warmth in the ears.
