Question
Is there a nerve under the tongue that connects to the eye? My son is two and a half years old, and when his tongue rolls up, his right eye squints, and there’s a lot of saliva under his tongue. Sometimes it sprays far like a water gun. What is this condition! It happens dozens of times a day, and we’ve had a brain CT done, which shows everything is normal.
Answer
Based on your simple clinical diagnosis description, the right eye squints and there’s a lot of saliva under the tongue, sometimes spraying far like a water gun. The two should not be necessarily connected. I suggest you don’t worry; there should be no brain issues. It might be due to overactive saliva glands, which may improve as the child grows older. I recommend a detailed examination by an oral health specialist. If necessary, consider surgery to remove them when the child is older. Wishing you health.
