Question

Is it safe for a child to take medication and receive an injection after a fever?

Answer

For a child with a fever of 38.5°C or higher, ibuprofen suspension can be used to quickly reduce the fever. Between 38 and 38.5 degrees, paracetamol extended-release tablets can be used. Typically, if a child’s fever does not exceed 38.5 degrees, symptomatic treatment can be administered, and a cool towel or ice pack can be applied to the forehead to relieve the fever.
