Question
How can a baby learn to use a bottle after getting used to breastfeeding?
Answer
Since the baby has only been accepting breast milk since birth, they may resist the bottle. Generally, if the baby has been introduced to both breast milk and bottles from birth, they will naturally adapt to the bottle. However, when the baby is between three and four months old, they may start to differentiate between their mother’s nipple and the bottle nipple, and may therefore refuse to use the bottle. For babies who are already accustomed to breastfeeding, you can try using softer, more breast-like nipples to see if the baby will accept them. If this method doesn’t work, consider continuing to breastfeed until the baby is ready to wean. Once weaning is complete, using soft nipples often makes it easier for the baby to accept the bottle.
