Question

My baby is 45 days old. Since around ten days old, the nurse has been giving him 30ml of water every morning, followed by breastfeeding. In between, we add some formula milk, and after drinking the formula milk, we rinse the bottle with another 30ml of water to give to the baby. On average, he drinks 40 to 50ml of water per day. I heard today that drinking water is bad for a baby’s kidneys. Has my baby been disturbed by drinking so much water for so long? Is the problem serious?

Answer

Based on the symptoms you’ve described, your child needs a certain amount of water daily, so there is no interference. The amount of water your child drinks is within the normal range and has no significant impact on the child, so I suggest you don’t worry too much.
