Question

My baby has recently shown little interest in drinking milk and is quite restless at night. Could this be due to teething? The baby doesn’t have any other symptoms, such as fever, cold, or diarrhea.

Answer

Baby teeth usually start to emerge around 6 months after birth, with about 8 teeth erupting by 18 months, and all baby teeth fully erupting around 3 years old. During the 6 to 13-year period, baby teeth gradually fall out, and permanent teeth start to emerge. The second molar usually erupts around 6 to 7 years old, with most permanent teeth fully erupting between 12 and 13 years old. The third molar (wisdom tooth) usually erupts between 17 and 25 years old, and some people may never have them erupt. If a child has passed the age of tooth replacement, they may need to supplement calcium, possibly taking AD or bone granules, and may need to take vitamin D as well. Currently, it cannot be determined if this is related to tooth replacement.
