Question

My child had a skin graft a few days ago and I’m wondering if this is successful since the dressing hasn’t been changed yet. The child has been crying and not letting the doctor see, and the doctor also didn’t say if it survived.

Answer

Based on the described situation, the possibility of the skin graft being successful is high, but it’s advisable to observe for a few more days. Currently, it seems that the transplanted skin may have already died and might not have survived; however, it can be observed more closely for a few more days. If new skin does not grow, it would prove that the graft was successful and may require another transplant. If circumstances permit, dressing changes should be done on time. These are my suggestions for this question, and I hope they are helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
