Question

Last night, my child had a fever and the doctor prescribed Acyclovir, Oseltamivir Phosphate Granules, and Children’s Chrysanthemum and Peony Clear Heat Granules. The child’s spirits were still good during the fever, but after taking the Oseltamivir Phosphate Granules, they felt nausea and vomited. In this situation, do I need to continue giving them the medication?

Answer

If the child’s blood routine shows no abnormal increase in white blood cells, it is usually considered a viral infection. The typical symptoms of influenza include high fever, but other symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose may not be obvious. If the Oseltamivir Phosphate Granules cause severe discomfort, it may be considered to stop the medication and switch to other medications like Ribavirin Granules. Therefore, it is not recommended to use Oseltamivir Hydrochloride prematurely. Other medications can be continued as prescribed by the doctor.
