Question
Why does a 1-year-old baby always cry in the winter? It seems to be better at home, but as soon as we go outside, the tears flow heavily. In the past, we got eye drops from the hospital and it got better for a few months. Could it be a blocked tear duct?
Answer
A baby’s tears may be caused by narrow tear ducts, inverted eyelashes, or cold weather. If there is any concern, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a tear duct flushing examination to rule out possible causes such as inflammation, inverted eyelashes, and cold air.
