Question

How long does the pain last after a minimally invasive surgery?

Answer

Regardless of the type of surgery, the causes of pain can be categorized into three: first, pain from nerve sectioning at the surgical wound; second, pain caused by damage to surrounding nerves and blood vessels during the surgical process; and third, pain from infection in the wound and surrounding tissues. Since it was a minimally invasive surgery, the pain may be due to the latter two. It is recommended to administer antibiotics to control infection and observe if the pain subsides. If the pain does not diminish, it may be due to nerve damage during the operation, at which point oral painkillers can be taken to relieve the pain.
