Question
A two-month-old infant has recently started coughing, seems to have a stuffy nose at night but is clear during the day, and is frequently vomiting milk. Before, there were no vomiting episodes, just occasional spit-ups. Lately, the vomiting has become more frequent. There is no fever, and I’m unsure if this is a cold.
Answer
Coughing and a stuffy nose are often associated with respiratory infections caused by catching a cold. Inflammation and infection can lead to the mucous membranes of the throat becoming congested and swollen, which may cause vomiting and other swallowing reflexes. Breast milk, rich in immune globulins, is the best natural medicine available within the first six months. If necessary, cephalosporin antibiotics can be used for treatment. I hope these suggestions are helpful to you. Wishing you good health.
