Question
The baby, who is one year and three months old, had an argument with the father last night and was hit by him in a fit of anger. The hit was on the face or head. I don’t know if there are any issues?
Answer
Falling or being struck is a common occurrence during the baby stage and generally does not pose significant harm. It is recommended to observe the baby for 48 hours. If the baby does not vomit, maintains normal appetite and spirit, then it is mostly fine. However, if the baby shows obvious injuries, motor impairments, listlessness, loss of appetite, vomiting, or seizures, it should be taken to the hospital immediately for examination. A head CT scan may be necessary to rule out severe brain injury. A single CT scan will not cause any adverse effects on the baby.
