Question
How often should a 14-month-old baby supplement calcium, or should they do it daily? What calcium supplements can aid in absorption?
Answer
During a child’s growth and development, calcium deficiency may reoccur, so intermittent supplementation of calcium is needed, such as taking AD granules, milk calcium, or calcium gluconate every other day. During the autumn and winter seasons, when outdoor activities are reduced, fish liver oil can be taken to promote calcium absorption. In terms of diet, it is advisable to consume more vegetables, tomatoes, rapeseed, celery, and fruits like apricots, peaches, plums, oranges, jujubes, lean meat, egg yolks, and animal liver and kidneys. These foods contain iron that is not easily absorbed, so vitamin E should be taken simultaneously.
