Question

The baby struggles with force, has a flushed face, cries, and seems in pain, approximately one month after birth. We have been to the hospital for a check-up, but the doctor believes it is part of the growth process and did not provide further explanation. How can we determine if the child is sick, and what methods can we use to make her more comfortable?

Answer

When newborns experience this kind of struggle again, common causes include: one, calcium deficiency; two, abdominal discomfort; three, abnormalities at birth, or overly high excitability. One, if the baby shows symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or loose stools, it may be due to indigestion. Medications such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactase, or Pepsin solution can be used to help improve digestion. Two, if the baby lacks Vitamin D or has insufficient sunlight exposure, it may lead to calcium deficiency.
